On Sept. 20, the 2022 Sports Wall of Fame induction ceremony was held at Bar Down, combining inductees from 2020 and 2021, as no ceremonies have been held since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“We again extend our congratulations to these individuals and to all those that attended the induction ceremony – it really was a magical evening,” said Karen Kieffer, Kincardine’s manager of community programs following the event, noting the “well-attended” ceremony saw about 100 people show up in support of the inductees.

Sports Wall of Fame recognition is broken into three categories: athlete, builder, and team.

The four new athlete inductees are Jim Bell, Hannah Davidson, Lisa Nicholson Holtby, and Clarke Pollock.

There were no teams inducted on Sept. 20.

To be inducted as an athlete, an individual must have excelled in one or more sports and have competed at the provincial, national, international or Division 1 level. Both amateur and professional athletes are eligible.

Builders are individuals or organizations that support teams or sport organizations.

Team inductees must have won a recognizable provincial, national or international championship, or have made a significant and unique contribution to the history or heritage of sport in Kincardine.

Since the inception of the Wall of Fame in 2017, there have been 25 athletes, six builders and one team inducted.
