On September 23, 2022, at approximately 11:04am 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a child pedestrian having been struck by a car in St. Catharines.
Officers arrived on scene in the area of Glenridge Avenue and Belton Boulevard and located a 14-year-old male with serious injuries. Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics transported the male to an out of region hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. Further examination by doctors at the hospital upgraded the male’s condition to stable and the injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
The 14-year-old had been struck by a black Toyota Camry as they crossed Glenridge Road. The investigation of the collision is being conducted by 1 District uniform officers and detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit. No charges have been laid.
Glenridge Road between Belton Boulevard (Southridge entrance) and Glen Morris Drive had been closed for the investigation but has since re-opened.
