Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup pricing leak corroborates earlier rumors of a price hike in Europe
According to leaker Roland Quandt, across Germany and Benelux, the vanilla Galaxy S23 looks likely to start at €949, with the Galaxy S23 Ultra to begin at €1399. Comparatively, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Ultra started at €849 and €1249 respectively last year. It’s important to note that last year’s base S22 Ultra SKU had 128 GB, while the S23 Ultra will start at 256 GB. The 256 GB model of the Galaxy S22 Ultra was priced at €1349.
As such, increased prices look evident: the Galaxy S23 will likely cost $100 more than a similarly optioned Galaxy S22 did last year. It’s a smaller $50 price increase for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, although it’s important to note that the 256 GB S22 Ultra had 12 GB of RAM, while the 256 GB S23 Ultra will likely only have 8 GB.
Prices for the phones in Spain don’t seem to be much different either. Reputedly, pricing information from a Spanish retailer is as follows for the S23 lineup, with about a €10 difference when compared to the German prices:
- S23 8/128: €959
- S23 8/256: €1019
- S23+ 8/256: €1209
- S23+ 8/512: €1329
- S23 Ultra 8/256: €1409
- S23 Ultra 12/512: €1589
