Wednesday star Luis Guzmán has talked about his on-screen chemistry with co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The actor, who plays Gomez in the spinoff to The Addams Familypraised the Morticia actress when speaking exclusively with Digital Spy.
“It was great. I thought we had a really good bond with each other,” he said of his chemistry with Zeta-Jones. “She’s beautiful – it goes without saying. I was just honored to be her Gomez, just as she was honored to be my Morticia.”

The actor, who has also appeared in Netflix drama Narcosrevealed it took inspiration from the original series when stepping into the shoes of Gomez, who has been played by Raul Julia and Tim Curry in the past.
“That show was so iconic, and growing up on it, and seeing it – you know, it wasn’t like trying to figure out some crazy equation,” said Guzmán of his acting process. “You’re just kind of just stepping into it, and you’re just kind of enhancing it, and just being that guy.”
Wednesday, which saw four out of the eight episodes directed by Tim Burton, focuses on Jenna Ortega’s titular character as she attends Nevermore Academy, a school for “monstrous misfits”. As she struggles to adapt to her newfound surroundings and her psychic abilities, she becomes witness to several murders committed by a mysterious creature.

Ortega, who has also appeared in You and screamrecently spoke about the pressure she felt by performing in front of Christina Ricci, the actress who originally played Wednesday.
“Obviously it’s weird when I’ve grown up my entire life viewing her [Ricci] as Wednesday,” she told Digital Spy. “It’s a bit disorienting. I think it took me a couple of days to kind of loosen up and warm up around her.”
Wednesday is now streaming on Netflix worldwide.
